Case Western Reserve University

The Western Reserve University with its origin in 1826 and the Case Institute of Technology founded by Leonard Case Jr. in 1881 were merged together in 1967 to create the Case Western Reserve University. In the state of Ohio, 'Case' which is the simpler name by which the University is known, is the largest and independent research University. According to the 2008-09 statistics, the Case had 4356 undergraduates apart from 5,458 professional and graduate students. Among the National Universities, the undergraduate program from Case Western ranked 41st while the University itself ranked 12 among private universities that received most of federal research funding.

The numerous medical, educational and cultural institutions of the University is housed in 550 acre campus in Downtown Cleveland.
