The Cleveland Museum of Natural History dedicated to Natural history is located in University Circle, a 550 acre campus of various medical, cultural, and educational institutions, 5 miles from Downtown, Cleveland. The origin of the museum dates back to 1920.

The Planetarium near the entrance of the museum was built in 2002 and contains various displays related to the planets in our solar system. You will also find historical instruments employed in exploration. The museum has on display over 4 million specimens including those on zoology, archaeology, paleontology, ornithology, and other topics.

The museum is also home to the Hamman-Todd Collection which represents over 900 primate skeletons and 3100 human skeletons that were put together from 1893. The Medical School at the Western Reserve University was originally home for these collections. When the cost of storing these bones became prohibitive, the collections were shifted to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.

The museum is open for your appreciation between 10 am and 5 pm, Mondays through Saturday with extended evenings till 10 pm on Wednesdays. On Sundays, the museum is open from noon till 5 pm.
